ADMISSION
1. What do I need to bring with me when moving in?
Personal items, including clothes, footwear, toiletries, reading material and medical supplies.
2. Where do I keep my Valuables; How about my daily expenses?
Do not bring valuables and cash. Payments and Money will be provided by an Authorized Guardian.
3. Can I choose my Room and Bed?
No, you may not choose your room and bed. The Management will allocate rooms and beds.
4. If I need aids such as a wheelchair, do I bring my own?
Yes you will have to bring your own aids (unless the Home has surplus).
COSTS
5. How much is the basic monthly fee to stay at Emmanuel Lifespring?
Enquire for further details.
6. Is there a Deposit to be paid?
2 months fees paid in advance. Please enquire for further details/explanations.
7. Are there extra costs, apart from the above?
Yes. This will include (among others) diaper, special diet, medical expenses and medications
8. What if I wish to leave before the end of the month; do I get a Refund?
You may not get a refund of the Monthly Fee. You may only get the refund of the Deposit less all Deductions .
SERVICES PROVIDED
9. What services are provided within the monthly fees?
The Monthly fee is for accommodation in a single bed multi person room or dormitory, three meals a day, laundry, general care (not including care for dependent individuals) and general overseeing of minor wounds or abrasions by a nursing assistant.
FOOD
10. What food is provided?
We provide balanced and nutritious meals, suitable for elderly adults. Details of the menu can be viewed by Prospective Residents upon enquiry.
11. Can I cook my own food?
No, you cannot cook your own food or prepare your own food in the Residence. All meals are provided.
The Kitchen area is only for the Staff to use to prepare Food. Residents are discouraged from making regular use of the Kitchen.
13.Can I bring in food from outside?
We do not encourage Residents to bring in food from outside. (Food poisoning or other consequential health issues might occur.)
14.What if I am vegetarian, or need any other special diet?
Additional vegetable dishes can be prepared at extra cost
Residents must notify the Manager of any specific allergy or health requirements. These will be documented in the Residence records. Residents must inform the Manager if there are diet changes as required by your doctors or other health care providers.
DRESS CODE
15. How many sets of clothes can I keep in the Residence?
Please bring only 4 sets of daily clothes and 1 set for going out, and night clothes. More details will be given on Registration.
16. Is there a Dress Code for daily living in the Residence, in the Hall, in the Bedroom?
Residents need to be decently dressed in public areas.
17. Is Laundry included in the Monthly Fees?
Yes. Basic laundry needs are included in the Fees.
BEDLINEN
18. Should I bring my own Bed Linen?
Basic bed linen is provided but we will not object if Residents wish to use their own.
ACTIVITIES
19. What sort of activities will be organized?
The Resident Manager and Nurse will organize various daily and weekly activities designed to meet the needs and abilities of the Residents. These may include sing-alongs, indoor and outdoor games, physiotherapy or exercise sessions, outings and parties.
20. Will these activities be compulsory?
Residents are highly encouraged to join in the activities as they will be good for their emotional, mental, physical and spiritual well-being; and will help them bond with their fellow Rresidents. However, these activities will not be made compulsory.
VISITORS
21 What are the Visiting Hours?
Generally, personal Visitors are welcome in the Day Hours, except 1.00-2.30 pm (Siesta).
Visitors are not encouraged after 7 pm.
22. Can Residents bring their own Physiotherapist, Medical Doctor, Pastor, etc?
Yes. However, charges incurred will be borne by Residents.
No Medical Representatives or Vitamin Salespersons, or any other Salespersons will be allowed to sell their products and services in the Residence.
23. What if Family Members or Relatives wish to visit and stay; will there be facilities for them?
Visiting Relatives will have to arrange for their own stay.

RELIGION
24. Do I have to be a Christian to stay in the Residence?
No, you do not have to be a Christian. However, this Residence provides a Christian environment, including Christian activities, like Worship Services, Bible Studies and simple Prayer Meetings.
25. If I wish to attend my Church or other religious meetings, what arrangements are there?
We will arrange transportation to attend ONE (specified) Church each Sunday. However, if Residents wishes to attend a different Church they have to make their own arrangements for transport (as with other religious or other social meetings).
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SITUATIONS
26. What if a resident needs to be hospitalized?
The Resident Manager and Nurse will make necessary arrangements for emergency hospitalization. Authorized Guardians will be contacted to take over Responsibility as soon as possible.
27. Does the Residence handle my Hospitalization Costs?
Residents will handle their own costs with the Hospital, including the ambulance costs.
SHORT OR LONG TERM ABSENCE
28. Are there any Rules for leaving, and returning to the Residence temporarily?
Whether for Home Visits, or short personal excursions or holidays, all Residents MUST inform the Resident Manager of the date and time of Leaving and Return before they leave the Residence, so we can keep track of their well-being.
